AU students connected educational administration theory with the realities of school leadership during a field visit on July 15, 2026.
Leadership theory stepped off the page when Assumption University of Thailand (AU) students visited Sacred Heart Convent School on July 15, 2026, to examine how academic programs, administrative decisions and day-to-day school operations came together in practice.
The visit formed part of the Educational Administration and Leadership course taught by Dr. Marilyn Fernandez Deocampo and supported the students’ term paper research. It offered a direct view of the systems and decisions that keep an educational institution moving.
Throughout the activity, students observed classroom instruction and examined a range of academic and administrative programs. They also interviewed school administrators about organizational leadership, decision-making and resource management.
Those conversations moved beyond routine procedures to consider the challenges schools encounter and the practical strategies used to address them. Students were able to compare those responses with the leadership concepts studied in class.
By collecting information through observation, inquiry and professional dialogue, students gathered useful evidence for their term papers while strengthening their analytical, research and critical-thinking skills.
The field visit helped turn educational leadership from an academic subject into something students could see at work—in classrooms, in conversations and in the everyday choices that shape a school.
