Mr. Vrong “P’Ton” Chinvanthananond Remembered for a Life of Humble Service and Enduring Kindness

It is with great sadness that Assumption University announces the sudden passing of Mr. Vrong Chinvanthananond, affectionately known as “P’Ton” to his many friends and colleagues. He passed away at his home on July 18, 2026.

P’Ton devoted over two decades of service to Assumption University. As Head of the AU Public Relations Office, he played an important role in sharing the university’s story, welcoming distinguished guests and international visitors, and supporting major events across both campuses.

He later continued his service through the AU Library’s Information Center. His remarkable ability to work with university leaders, faculty members and staff from every school and department made him a trusted colleague throughout the AU community.

P’Ton’s contribution extended beyond Assumption University. He served as Chair of the Public Relations Committee of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. In 2022, he was elected to this leadership position for a remarkable fourth term, representing AU within Thailand’s private higher education community.

Much of P’Ton’s work took place quietly behind the scenes, but its impact could be seen and felt across the university. He brought people together, anticipated what needed to be done and ensured that countless events and university occasions ran successfully.

More importantly, P’Ton will be remembered for the way he treated people. He was considerate, kind and deeply empathetic, approaching everyone with warmth, patience and respect. He was an exceptional colleague, a trusted friend and a truly remarkable man.

Born on November 30, 1968, P’Ton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Suchawadee Chinvanthananond, and their two children, Mr. Vorachart Chinvanthananond and Ms. Sarochinee Chinvanthanond.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral rites will be held from July 19–21, 2026, at Hall 2, Wat Don Mueang, Bangkok.

Assumption University will serve as host for the funeral service on July 21.

Friends, former colleagues and members of the Assumption University community are warmly invited to attend and pay their respects.

The cremation ceremony will take place on July 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Wat Don Mueang.

P’Ton will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues and the many people whose lives he touched through his years of dedicated service. His work was often behind the scenes, but the kindness he showed and the difference he made will never be forgotten.
