A Bright Start: Induction Day Welcomed AU’s Newest Class

Assumption University of Thailand (AU)  welcomed new students on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with an Induction Day that blended practical guidance, warm encouragement, and the first shared steps of campus life at the John XXIII Conference Center on the Suvarnabhumi Campus. Registration and textbook collection opened in the morning, followed by a university introduction video, welcome remarks, student affairs guidance, and faculty-based sessions with lecturers and senior students.

The day was designed to do what a good beginning should do: replace nerves with direction and make a large university feel a little more personal. New students arrived, checked in, collected learning materials for the Intensive Course where applicable, and settled into the rhythm of a day created to orient, reassure, and welcome them into the AU community.

A key moment in the program came during the official welcome and opening remarks delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Uree Cheasakul, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who addressed the incoming students before the program moved into a broader introduction to university life. The schedule then turned to student activities and communication channels, helping students understand how to stay informed, engaged, and connected from the very beginning of their journey.

From there, the program shifted from the university-wide welcome to something more personal. Students separated by faculty to meet lecturers and senior students, giving them an early opportunity to begin forming academic connections, ask practical questions, and get a clearer sense of what lies ahead in their chosen fields of study. That combination of structure and human contact gave the event its real value. It was not only about where to go, but about feeling that someone was already there to guide the way.

Held at one of the university’s signature venues, the event reflected AU’s continuing commitment to helping students begin with confidence, clarity, and community. If the first day set the tone, this one suggested that the road ahead would be busy, purposeful, and full of possibility.
