Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), and Rev. Bro. Dr. Sakda Sakontawat, Director of Assumption College Thonburi (ACT), have joined forces once again to renew a historic partnership between their two schools. This renewed commitment focuses on advancing academic growth, moral education, and community development for the future.
The partnership was formalized with a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at creating opportunities for both students and teachers, and encouraging innovation in education. This MoU builds on the shared history of these two Catholic educational institutions and paves the way for even stronger ties between them.
Rev. Bro. Sirichai, expressed his enthusiasm during the signing ceremony, stating: “This partnership between Assumption Thonburi School and Assumption University is more than a formal agreement—it is a reflection of our shared values and our collective mission. Together, we will continue to provide opportunities for our students to grow, excel, and lead with wisdom and integrity.”
Bro. Sirichai took the occasion to acknowledge Brother Sakda for his exemplary leadership at Assumption Thonburi School, which has been instrumental in making this collaboration possible. Founded in 1961, Assumption College Thonburi has a long tradition of nurturing students in diligence, integrity, and service. Rev. Bro. Dr. Sakda has been at the helm, ensuring that these values remain the foundation of the school. Through this renewed partnership with Assumption University, students at Assumption College Thonburi will now benefit from new learning experiences, shared resources, and collaborative programs.
The MoU sets the foundation for several joint initiatives, including research projects, student exchanges, and educational programs that equip students with the skills needed for the global stage. Rev. Bro. Sirichai also invoked the wisdom of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, emphasizing the perseverance required to overcome challenges: “I know you will have many difficulties to overcome, but an enterprise which is going to do so much for the glory of God and the salvation of men will have its way strewn with thorns and crosses. If you don’t take risks for God, you won’t give anything worthwhile.”
As both institutions embark on this new journey, they are united in their commitment to creating an environment that emphasizes not only academic excellence but also moral and ethical development—shaping future leaders who are compassionate, capable, and grounded in the Gabrielite values.
