Warm welcomes, wise words, and a world of opportunity begin at Hua Mak Campus
The Graduate School of Human Sciences at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) rolled out the red carpet for its newest scholars during the Orientation for Semester 1/2025, held on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The morning buzzed with energy as fresh faces and experienced faculty came together at the Seminar Room, De Montfort Hall, Hua Mak Campus — ready to launch into a new chapter of academic excellence and personal growth.
Dr. Satha Pongsatha, Dean of the Graduate School of Human Sciences, set an inspiring tone with his opening remarks, encouraging students to “lead with purpose, learn with curiosity, and grow with compassion.” Dr. Satha also serves as Program Director for both the Ph.D. Program in Educational Administration and Leadership (Ph.D. EAL) and the M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Leadership (M.Ed. EAL) — programs known for cultivating visionary leaders in education.
Students then met the academic stars guiding their graduate journey:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Poonpilas Asavisanu, Program Director of the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (M.Ed. CI) — dedicated to shaping educators who innovate with intention.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Manzoor Malik, Program Director of the Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy and Religion (Ph.D. PR) and Master of Arts in Philosophy and Religion (M.A. PR) — a mentor for those seeking meaning, ethics, and insight in today’s world.
- Dr. Parvathy Varma S., Program Director of the Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology (Ph.D. CP) and the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (M.S. CP) — helping future counselors become agents of healing and hope.
- Dr. Apichart Intrasvit, Program Director of the Master of Arts in Arts and Design (M.A. AD) — where creativity meets culture, and innovation becomes impact.
The final hour saw students joining their specific program groups for their first academic huddle — a chance to ask questions, make connections, and get a head start on their studies.
With passion in their hearts and purpose in their steps, these future educators, counselors, philosophers, and creatives are ready to make their mark.
