On January 23, 2025, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Hua Mak Campus welcomed Dr. Wanida Tewarith Chitisankul, a Senior-Level Researcher from the Institute of Food Research and Product Development (IFRPD), to share her expertise on functional soy foods. The event, part of the FT2006 Functional Foods for Nutrition and Health series, brought together students, faculty, and food science enthusiasts eager to explore the transformative potential of soy-based nutrition.
Dr. Wanida’s presentation, titled “Unlocking the Potential Health Benefits of Functional Soy Foods” highlighted the growing importance of functional foods in promoting wellness. She discussed cutting-edge research on how soy can play a crucial role in improving cardiovascular health, enhancing digestion, and even reducing the risk of chronic illnesses.
The event also featured remarks from Assistant Professor Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean of the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology at AU. Dr. Patchanee underscored the relevance of functional foods in today’s health-conscious world, stating.



The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment, where participants explored topics ranging from soy cultivation to the potential of functional food innovation in Thailand.
