The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of Mr. Cherdsak Nareenuch (also known as Timothy Ortiz), an esteemed alumnus from the Class of 2011. In November 2024, he was honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, a global recognition for exceptional nursing care and compassion.

Nominated by his hospital, the DAISY Award recognizes extraordinary nurses who provide compassionate, high-quality care that makes a lasting impact on patients, families, and colleagues. Being a DAISY Honoree means joining a global network of outstanding nurses and receiving lifelong recognition for excellence in nursing.

Mr. Cherdsak embarked on his nursing journey at AU in 2008, pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing Science. After graduation, he gained valuable experience across multiple healthcare settings in Thailand before transitioning to international roles. Despite his busy career, he has remained deeply connected to his alma mater, generously supporting nursing students by funding opportunities for international exposure. He frequently stays in touch with faculty, sharing insights and experiences from his professional journey.

Currently, Mr. Cherdsak serves as a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC), San Bernardino County, California. In addition to his clinical work, he is advancing his education with a Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice-Executive at West Coast University Orange County. His expertise has also led to teaching roles as a part-time lecturer at West Coast University and Adjunct Professor at San Bernardino Valley College, further demonstrating his dedication to the profession.

The AU community takes great pride in Mr. Cherdsak Nareenuch’s success. His unwavering commitment to nursing and education is a testament to the university’s maxim:

“You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.”

His story serves as an inspiration to current students and fellow alumni, proving that AU nurses are truly shaping healthcare—both in Thailand and around the world.
