Waves of Arts, Crafts, and Cultures Raised Spirits and Support for the Community

WRITER : THE AU LIBRARY

Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Theodore Maria School of Arts marked its 40th Anniversary with “Waves of Arts, Crafts, and Cultures” on 17–18 September, 2025 at The Cathedral of Learning, Suvarnabhumi Campus. The two-day celebration brought together 11 AU Schools, students, alumni, schools nearby, and Bang Sao Thong community for hands-on workshops, creative booths, and live music, demonstrating AU’s belief that the Arts build community as well as careers. A portion of proceeds was donated to the Watthana Niwat Foundation and Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities, extending the festival’s impact beyond campus.

The opening featured a Yosakoi performance blending traditional Japanese folk elements with modern rhythms, setting an upbeat tone for a program that highlighted both talent and generosity.

The Scholarship Award Ceremony recognized outstanding students from Pak Klong Chuad Yai School, while School of Music performances kept the venue lively throughout both days.

Faculty volunteers and student leaders hosted legal counseling, games, and a popular lucky draw, adding useful services and a dash of fun to the learning-by-doing atmosphere.

On day two, an alumnus returned for a special talk, “Life as an entrepreneur” sharing practical pathways from classroom skills to creative businesses. Across the venue, booths showcased textiles, design crafts, illustration, multimedia, and cultural expressions, evidence of the School’s mission to pair Language, Education, and Business Inspiration with real-world application.

“Waves of Arts, Crafts, and Cultures” reflected the School’s motto, more than faculty, we are family, by turning creativity into community service. Congratulations to all students, faculty, alumni, and partner schools who made the event a success, and thank you to our guests whose participation helped support the Watthana Niwat Foundation.
