Assumption University of Thailand (AU) kicked off its Youth Volunteer Project 2025 with a high-impact field visit to the Chan Krung Community Enterprise on June 14, 2025. Backed by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, this mission marked the first step in an ambitious community transformation journey.
Under the theme “From Chan Krung Sugarcane to Creative Products: Adding Value and Building Sustainability,” AU students and faculty rolled up their sleeves and got to work—listening, learning, and laying the groundwork for something truly meaningful.

The project aims to breathe new life into Chan Krung’s locally grown sugarcane by transforming it into innovative, branded, market-ready products. But it’s not just about sweet treats—it’s about sustainable enterprise, economic empowerment, and local pride.
For AU students, this wasn’t just a visit—it was an immersion. An opportunity to put theory into practice, apply their skills in real time, and co-create solutions with the community. From assessing local needs to brainstorming value-added products, the experience delivered hands-on learning with heart.
This field visit is just the beginning. As the sugarcane turns into opportunity, the partnership between AU and Chan Krung is set to grow deeper roots—nurturing innovation, resilience, and a future where education meets empowerment.
