Assumption University of Thailand (AU), through the Institute for English Language Education (IELE) and the Theodore Maria School of Arts, successfully hosted the IELE Language Café 1-2025 on August 27–28 at CL Plaza under the theme “Languages for a Better Tomorrow”.

The two-day event highlighted the role of languages in building cultural appreciation, international collaboration, and sustainability awareness, aligning strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students and faculty gathered to participate in lively activities, performances, fun language games with prizes, and plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas over food and snacks.

Opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Nida Boonma, Director, Institute for English Language Education (IELE), Theodore Maria School of Arts, followed by a group photo session capturing the spirit of unity and diversity that defines AU. From then on, the plaza transformed into a hub of cultural interaction, where language learning went far beyond the classroom.

Participating programs included English for International Business (EIB), French for International Business (FIB), Chinese for International Business (CIB), Japanese for International Business (JIB), English Chinese for Digital Communication (ECD), General Education (GE), English Language Teaching (ELT) – Graduate School of Human Sciences (GSHS). Together, they showcased the multilingual, multicultural environment that makes AU a truly international university.
Beyond performances and fun, the Language Café created space to reflect on how communication fuels global cooperation, while reminding participants of their role in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
