A team of Assumption University of Thailand (AU) students, including; Anaïs Vieille, Nathan Roussel, Cyriaque Hellot, and Timothée Lafeuille visited BCPG’s solar farm in Ayutthaya, where they explored how renewable energy is shaping Thailand’s low-carbon future.

BCPG, a subsidiary of the Bangchak Group, is one of Thailand’s leading renewable energy companies, with investments in solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power across Asia. Known for its motto “Beyond Green,” BCPG is pioneering projects in carbon credit trading and peer-to-peer energy exchange, positioning itself at the forefront of the region’s clean energy transition.

The AU students gained valuable insights into solar power generation and were especially impressed by BCPG’s rooftop solar program, which allows households and businesses to install solar panels at no upfront cost, enjoy discounted electricity bills, and even sell surplus energy back to the grid.
In their reflection, the group emphasized how decentralized renewable solutions can accelerate energy democratization, enhance grid resilience, and build inclusive power systems. They also noted that sustainability is not just an environmental imperative but a strategic driver of business competitiveness and customer engagement.
Through this hands-on learning experience, the AU students demonstrated their commitment to engaging with real-world sustainability challenges and showcased the critical thinking and global perspective that define AU’s academic community.
