His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great has also had scholars collaborate to set up the Children’s Encyclopedia Project to provide knowledge for children and the public.

The Thai Encyclopedia for youth Project has been written by the Thai Encyclopedia Project for Youth with the intention of His Majesty to collect the body of knowledge in various fields for the people to have the opportunity to read and study by themselves. It is a nonprofit-making project or any profit commercially.

In 1973, five years after the inception of the founding committee, the Royally initiated Thai Junior Encyclopedia was completed. The 10,000 copies of the first volume were divided into two portions, half was distributed to schools and libraries around the country according to His Majesty's intention. The other half was sold to the general public.

Since that period, the project has continuously produced more publications. The subjects are General Science, Technology, Social Science, Medical Science, Agriculture, Humanities and Arithmetics.
