The “Resonance – Thailand–China Artists International Exchange Exhibition” opened with a grand ceremony at Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China.
Co-organized by Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, with curation by Sichuan Yingmeng Cultural Communication Co., Ltd, the exhibition brings together the artistic excellence of both nations to highlight art’s power as a universal language and cultural bridge.

A Celebration of Friendship Through Art
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies of AU, delivered an inspiring opening address. He praised the exhibition as “a vital cultural initiative commemorating five decades of friendship and cooperation between Thailand and China,” emphasizing the role of art in fostering understanding and emotional connection between peoples.

He extended heartfelt gratitude to the leadership, faculty, artists, and staff of Chinese partner institutions, recognizing their dedication in bringing this landmark event to life. “Art has transcended national boundaries, connecting the creative souls of our two nations,” he noted.

Showcasing the Creative Pulse of Thailand
The exhibition features artworks from five leading Thai Universities — Assumption University of Thailand, Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, Srinakharinwirot University, and Silpakorn University.
Spanning painting, sculpture, installation, ceramics, and video, the works showcase the diversity and vitality of contemporary Thai art. This collaboration marks a new chapter in artistic education and cultural exchange between the two nations.

A Date of Deep National Significance
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti highlighted the importance of opening the exhibition on October 13, a day that honors the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), a revered figure in Thai history and a celebrated artist in his own right. His Majesty’s creative legacy in music, painting, and photography continues to inspire generations of Thai artists.

Strengthening Academic and Cultural Ties
During the ceremony, AU formally appointed eight distinguished scholars from Hebei Academy of Fine Arts as collaborative Master’s supervisors—a strategic step to strengthen international faculty structures and foster joint talent development in the arts.
Commemorative gifts were also presented to partner institutions, including Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and Yingmeng Cultural Institution, in appreciation of their role in deepening Thailand–China cultural exchange.

Next Stop: Thailand
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti concluded by inviting all guests and artists to the Thai leg of the exhibition, set to open on January 17, 2026, at AU in Bangkok. “Let us continue writing a new chapter of Thailand–China friendship through the language of art,” he said.
