Prof. Dr. Suwattana Eamoraphan, Dean of Graduate School of Human Sciences, Assumption University of Thailand, and presented them the 2020 Honorary Alumni Award.

What is your goal in terms of improving the School?

“In terms of the School, as the Dean, I would like to see all our programs continue to evolve and grow in keeping with the needs and requirements of our students. As the GSHS has four disciplines, to actualize our vision we have to all work together to recognize how education contributes to the human experience, career achievement and even emotional well-being. Our programs have to meet the needs of our students and at the same time respect their diversity in both culture and other characteristics. We have to think ahead, change with the times and adjust our curriculum, teaching and personal perspectives to focus on keeping up with the future. As the Dean, I hope to instill this vision and encourage a positive, proactive approach in all the staff and faculty of the school.”

What are the challenges ahead for the GSHS?

“I think the challenges ahead for the GSHS are the same as the challenges for higher education as a whole. The traditional ways of teaching and learning are shifting. Student needs and demand for higher education is changing, this includes many of the aspects of what has been the system of higher education for many decades. Technology has changed how to learn, where to learn and who can learn. Challenges for the GSHS is keeping up with these new hybrid or technology enhanced ways to teach while at the same time providing a personalized and relevant education for all our students.”
