What is this book about?

I am pleased to share the good news that my first book, “Guru Vs. Google”, is now available on Amazon.

I am thankful to Rev. Brother Bancha Saenghiran,
the Rector and President of Assumption University, for his trust and blessings. I am also grateful to my colleagues, Dr. Harold Adams and
Dr. Varughese K. John, for participating in this effort.

This book is about the impact of EduTech (Educational Technologies) on higher education. It explores how new technologies are forcing changes in a century-old Face-to-Face (F2F) teaching and learning model. COVID crisis is now crumbling the century-old traditional Ivory Towers of higher education.

Please provide some highlights of this book.

This book is written with the intent to highlight how new trends, technologies, products, and services are forcing drastic changes in our century-old traditional system of education. It consists of 15 chapters. The first section of the book contains six chapters that provide a global perspective, and the second section has nine chapters highlighting various issues of higher education in Thailand. The second section also includes a few tidbits about the online presence of Catholic churches in Thailand.

What is your view about post COVID era of education?

In the last two years, remote learning, Social Networks, Mobile Apps, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, IoT, and Cloud computing are harnessing the power of the internet in unprecedented ways.

Interviewing Assist. Prof. Dr. Kuldeep Nagi on His New Book “Guru vs Google”

These new technologies are bringing dramatic changes in the global educational landscape, transforming the breadth, depth, and quality of education by providing opportunities for learning from anywhere for anyone and at any time. Hence no matter how much pride we may take in our traditional system and its place in society, it must reform and integrate these new trends and technologies for digital learning. There is little doubt that in the post COVID era, these technologies will drive new pedagogies and bring reforms to our century-old educational system.

Despite the ongoing COVID crisis, spending some time to explore our unique perspective on current social and academic issues has the power to rejuvenate your life. So, enjoy our colorful pile of unique perspectives provided in this book with a pint of enthusiasm. Thank you, and Happy New Year 2022.
