The Institute for Research and Academic Services (IRAS), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) organized academic service activity 2021 #2 which is the collaborative project to provide academic services between Assumption University of Thailand and external stakeholders on February 18, 2022 at Wat Sriwareenoi School, Samut Prakan.

The Academic service 2021 project is the project that AU has been fully aware and always focused and promoted as one of the university’s mission to provide academic services to communities and societies. In addition, AU is a Catholic University that has its mission to carry on St.Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, Founder’s intention in educating the youth and continue helping underprivileged youth in the society.

In this activity, there were 7 schools in AU participated and 5 of them have organized different types of activities. The activity started by the opening speech and the background of the project by Dr. Preecha Methavasaraphak, Director of IRAS and followed by the welcoming speech by Ms. Nipaporn Muangghoul, Director of Wat Sriwareenoi School. After that, there were activities organized by each school as follows;

1. Thomas Aquinas School of Law organized a role-playing activity and talk show as well as provide legal advice. The objective of this activity is to provide knowledge to students and parents about law in everyday life. They will understand the fundamental rights in common laws and be able to apply knowledge gained from this activity in their daily life. In addition, the school provided legal advice to students and parents. The participants were M4-M6 students and the parents.

2. Vincent Mary School of Engineering organized a class to teach students to create application. The objective of this class is to provide knowledge to students to be able to create application on smartphones, think systematically, and learn about technologies so they can apply the knowledge in the future. The participants in this class were M3 students.

3. Louis Nobiron School of Music organized Singing Contest for primary level, and junior secondary level. Each level had 5 contestants. In this contest, the contestant chose their best song and sang with backing track. The prize for the winner is a scholarship. Before the award announcement, Ms. Thipyarat Sensorn, student from the school sang folk song as an example to enable all students to learn and improve their singing skill so they can use their ability of manifestation to perform in front of the audiences.

4. Martin de Tour School of Management and Economics organized Math Bingo Game and the invention of objects by using limited resources. The participants were P2 and P3 students. The objective of this activity is to allow students to practice math skills, think systematically, exercise creativity, understand resource management, practice team work and open to other’s opinions.

5. Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology organized the activity to introduce the use of code.org to M.1- M.3 students and allowed the students to write the Code program. The objective is to reinforce logical thinking skill through a computer science by using website code.org.


IRAS has organized the academic services activities since academic year 2017 and there are 12 schools from both undergraduate and graduate levels participate. Each school utilizes their area of expertise or their strength to teach the practice and communication. Numbers of schools conducted online materials and delivered to the school to teach their students and took it in the real action, applied practically, and created the maximum benefits as the following details:

In 2018 organized at Watbangpleenoi School
In 2019 organized at Chumchonwatbanrakad School
In 2020 the activity was cancelled due to the Pandemic of COVID – 19

In academic year 2021, IRAS organized the first academic service activity on January 19, 2022 by delivery online materials to the schools. There were 5 schools participated in this activity as follows;
