Assumption University of Thailand (AU) by Center for Sports and Physical Fitness (CSPE), Office of The Vice President for Student Affairs collaborating with the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (APHEIT) implement the project “AU Fit for Run: A Sustainable Way towards a New Life with Health Model” on 7 April to 18 June, 2021 at Suvarnabhumi Campus.

This project is a distance run mileage for interested instructors, staff, and students with the purpose of routine exercise promotion, time allocation to physical activity, awareness on healthy lifestyle, and daily life adaptation. 50 participants are expected with a better Body Mass Index (BMI).

The running route is around John Paul II Sports Center between Mondays and Fridays at 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. for a total of 10 weeks based on the following criteria:

  1. Running with a distance at least 2.5 kilometers/day (2-5 days/week) or a total distance of at least 25 kilometers;
  2. Running at least 20 minutes (2-5 days/week) or total time is not less than 400 minutes (6 hours 40 minutes) until the end of the activity.

For each participant who is interested in this project can follow this instruction:

  1. Register your full name, BMI data, arm, waist, and thigh measurement data into a computer programmed system and a chip;
  2. Start the running program after complete registration and receive a chip from the staff to stamp the number of running laps;
  3. Register and receive a chip before running in each day;
  4. The staff collect data from the system e.g., distance, laps, calories, BMI, and the survey at the end of the specified time;
  5. Summarize and announce the results of those who pass the criteria.

Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology supports the running mileage program with the use of chip to calculate laps and calories efficiently and accurately; moreover, this program can be applied and developed in related fields.

Center for Sports and Physical Fitness, Office of The Vice President for Student Affairs is determined to respond to excellence in service and sport promotion according to the university graduates’ vision which aims to promote good health and perspectives with morality wishing for self-development at all times, independent and creative thinking, professional competence, leadership towards economic development in order to achieve the fairness in the society, communicating with people from other nations, and participating in the globalization.

In each year, Center for Sports and Physical Fitness, Office of The Vice President for Student Affairs holds various activities to support personnel and students with health readiness, for example, Aerobic Dance, Yoga Class, AU Smart Balance, AU Crossfit, Badminton AU Cup, etc. and to convince of safety for CSPE users during COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, CSPE always cleans the place and sport equipment.
