The Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology at Assumption University proudly hosted the 5th Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar on December 22, 2023, at A72 A Building, Hua Mak Campus. The seminar, themed "Biotechnology: Toward a Sustainable Future" served as a dynamic platform for scientific exchange and bolstered the collaboration between Assumption University of Thailand and Tianjin University of Science and Technology, China.

The seminar featured a series of groundbreaking discussions led by distinguished scholars and researchers. The event commenced with a keynote on the exploration of anti-hyperuricemia functional resources by Prof. Xuegang Luo, Dean of the College of Biotechnology at Tianjin University of Science and Technology.

Prof. Yu Zheng followed with an exploration into the core microorganisms and their role in the intelligent manufacturing of traditional vinegar. Prof. Hua Sun provided new insights into the biological activities of Chrysanthemum morifolium and its potential to mitigate glucose and lipid metabolism disorders.

From King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Malinee Sriariyanun enlightened attendees with her approach to transforming waste into wealth through lignocellulose biorefinery.

Representing Assumption University, Waralee Watcharin delved into the investigation of nanostructured materials from biopolymer for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. Tomoko Ueta, also from Assumption University, presented her research on the development of high-protein okara cake mix, emphasizing the seminar’s focus on health and nutrition.

 
 
 

The seminar concluded with a collaborative spirit, echoed in the closing remarks by Assumption University's dignitaries, and was commemorated by a group photograph symbolizing the unity and forward momentum of biotechnological research and innovation.
