Louis Nobiron School of Music, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) has embarked on an exciting journey of collaboration with the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Ministry of Justice. The partnership, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aims to synergize efforts in fostering awareness and elevating cooperation within the juvenile justice process.

Representing the School of Music, Assistant Professor Dr. Krittisak Poolsawat, Chairperson of the Music Entrepreneurship Department, stood alongside as a representative for Assistant Professor Dr. Pannawit Sanitnarathorn, Dean of the School of Music, in endorsing the MOU. On the side of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Ministry of Justice, the MOU was witnessed by Pol Lt Col Prawut Wongsrinil, the Director-General, and Pol Col TaweeSodsong, the Minister of Justice.

 
 
 

The signing ceremony, held on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at the T.C. Palace Convention Center in Bangkok, marked a pivotal moment in enhancing mutual cooperation and honoring the networks that support the endeavors of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection.

The collaboration aims to nurture a holistic approach to education, intertwining musical proficiency with entrepreneurship skills. It seeks to equip graduates with the readiness to embark on careers within the music industry, guided by seasoned artists, business executives, entrepreneurs, and experts sharing insights and experiences.

Both the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection and the School of Music recognize the significance of intervention, rehabilitation, and character development for children and adolescents. Utilizing music as a tool for nurturing and rehabilitating young minds, the collaboration endeavors to instill empathy, civility, and a sense of responsibility in youth.

Key components of the collaboration include:

Support for Intervention and Rehabilitation: Employing musical activities to promote behavioral change and cultivate positive attitudes among children and adolescents undergoing the juvenile justice process.

Academic Collaboration: Collaborating on academic initiatives, curriculum development, and activities aimed at intervention, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Students from AU  will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and gain practical experience through music-related knowledge dissemination and performances.

The partnership between the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection and the School of Music underscores a shared commitment to leveraging expertise and resources for the betterment of society. By harnessing the power of music, this collaboration aims to inspire, educate, and empower the youth, fostering a brighter future for generations to come.
