Center of Research and Design Innovation Service (CRDIS), Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), and the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) (SACIT) had Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 11, 2022, at AR 0304 room, Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design (Suvarnabhumi Campus).

Objectives of Academic Mutual Cooperation

  1. Collaborate in promoting and supporting the development of creative arts and crafts for business marketing with the perspectives and creativity of the new generation. This leads to the development of art and handicraft products that create contemporary and sustainable traditions of Thai arts and crafts.
  2. Collaboratively support various fields such as product contests, exhibitions, and exchanges of knowledge of technology and innovation.
  3. Build an academic network, gather knowledge of arts and crafts, and provide opportunities for academic exchanges through academic conferences, all of which aim from disseminating knowledge in conservations and cultural handicrafts to corporate identity to the world.
  4. Cooperate in promoting and supporting public relations of art and craft knowledge through activities or public relations.

The MOU signing ceremony started by the welcome speech delivered by Dr. Vindhai Cocracul, Vice President for Academic Affairs. After that, the Dean of Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design and the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) gave their speech of the background and academic cooperation.

After the speeches, the MOU signing ceremony took place. The MOU was signed by Asst. Prof. Suparath Valaisathien, Dean, Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design, Assumption University of Thailand, and Mr. Pornpon Akathaporn, Acting Chief Executive Officer, the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization). Ajarn Ornlaor Homsettee, Director, CRDIS, AU and Mr. Pavee Phoyee, Acting Deputy Executive Officer, SACIT, as the witnesses, also co-signed the MOU.

After the ceremony, the administrators of both institutions presented souvenirs to each other and took a commemorative photo. Then, both visited student laboratories and exhibition rooms, and they toured by tram to see the facilities and experience the atmosphere at Suvarnabhumi Campus.

The CRDIS group, eventually, visited the last venue, St. Louis Marie de Montfort Chapel, which is the Catholic Chapel for Sunday Mass. Also, the Chapel is the important venue for several main events of the university, such as Happy Feast of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, Assumption Day and Crowning Ceremony, AU Awards for Excellence, Investiture Ceremony of The New President of Assumption University of Thailand (November 14, 2002), and the ceremony of awarding honorary doctorate degrees to important people on various occasions.
