Assumption University of Thailand (AU), recently ranked as the top private university in the country, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Banphaeo General Hospital , paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in medical education. This strategic partnership aims to develop a robust framework for clinical training and academic collaboration, ensuring that AU's future medical professionals are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the healthcare industry.

The MoU signing ceremony featured prominent figures, including Rev. Bro. Dr. Verayuth Boonpram, Vice President for Academic Affairs at AU, and Dr. Saowanee Kerddonfak, Director of Banphaeo General Hospital. Professor Dr. Yuwares Sithichanbancha, Dean of the St. Luke School of Medicine at AU, and Dr. Pisit Sriprasert, Executive Chairman of Banphaeo General Hospital, also attended as witnesses.

Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, President of AU, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership: "We are thrilled to partner with Banphaeo Hospital as we strive to set new standards in medical education. This collaboration is a cornerstone of our commitment to nurturing competent, caring medical professionals who will be instrumental in advancing healthcare in Thailand and beyond."


 

 

Highlights of the MoU include:
Clinical Training: Starting from the academic year AU receives accreditation for its Doctor of Medicine program, Banphaeo Hospital will serve as a primary clinical training site for medical students.
Educational Support: Both institutions will collaborate on organizing a variety of educational activities including training, research, and access to library services.
Joint Management: Guidelines for the administration and management of the medical education program will be jointly developed, particularly focusing on students in their later years of study.
Budgetary Support: AU will allocate funds per student to aid Banphaeo Hospital in enhancing educational infrastructure and resources.
Faculty Development: The partnership will also focus on professional development opportunities for medical faculty and staff to foster academic and clinical excellence.
Appointment of Personnel: Faculty members from Banphaeo Hospital will be appointed to academic positions at AU in accordance with university regulations.
Periodic Review: Both parties agree to a regular review of the MoU every five years to adapt to evolving educational and healthcare needs.

This partnership not only reflects AU's leadership in academic excellence but also highlights its proactive approach in enhancing the quality of healthcare education. By joining forces with Banphaeo Hospital, AU affirms its role at the forefront of medical education innovation.
