In a move that marks a new era of academic innovation, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly announces the merging of the Vincent Mary School of Engineering and the Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology into the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science, and Technology (VMES), effective from June 1st, 2024.

This strategic merger signifies a commitment to interdisciplinary excellence and represents a fusion of strengths from both schools. VMES is set to become a beacon of innovation, where engineering and science converge to address global challenges and foster breakthrough research.

Concurrently, Assumption University is proud to announce the appointment of Assistant Professor Dr. Narong Aphiratsakun as the Dean of VMES for a three-year term. Dr. Narong, an alumnus of Assumption University, holds a Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and a Master’s in Power Electronics from Assumption University. He completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at Assumption University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

A distinguished researcher in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation Systems, and Control Systems, Dr. Narong is set to lead VMES into a new era of educational and research excellence.

AU President Brother Bancha commented, "The appointment of Dr. Narong and the establishment of VMES are pivotal moments in our university’s history, reflecting our aspiration to be a leader in innovative and interdisciplinary education. Dr. Narong’s commitment to research and teaching excellence is a perfect embodiment of Assumption University’s ethos, and we are confident that under his leadership, VMES will achieve unprecedented success."
