Assumption University of Thailand (AU) welcomed a distinguished delegation from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) for a study visit to ABAC Journal on April 7, 2026, in a meeting that highlighted shared interests in collaboration, quality assurance, and the ongoing development of academic publishing.
The visit brought together a 27-person team from KMITL, led by Associate Professor Dr. Anuwat Jangwanitlert, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with representatives from nine academic journal editorial teams and the KMITL Office of Academic Journal Administration. The delegation visited AU’s Hua Mak Campus to exchange experiences, explore journal management practices, discuss common editorial challenges, and strengthen professional networks in scholarly publishing, with an emphasis on improving quality.
The meeting was kindly chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Rawin Vongurai, Assistant Vice President for Research and Academic Services, who graciously delivered a welcome address and opened the meeting on behalf of the AU President and administrators. He also shared his valuable experience in journal development, setting a thoughtful and encouraging tone for the exchange.
To prepare for the visit, the ABAC Journal editorial team comprising of Dr. Absorn Meesing, Editor-in-Chief, and Mr. Aung Kyi Win Assistant Editor, was joined by Dr. Noppadol Manosuthi, Co-Editor-in-Chief from Chulalongkorn University, and our new editorial team member, Dr. Sutthisan Chumwichan, Associate Editor. Together, the team shared perspectives on the journal’s development and management, as well as its editorial practices, manuscript screening, and peer review process.
Our guests also presented their experiences sharing their success and concerns. All presentations were followed by lively discussions from both sides which reflected their shared commitment to fairness, rigor, and scholarly integrity. Thanks for critical questions from the visiting delegation which were addressed with candor and practical insights drawn from editorial experience. The exchange moved beyond technical procedure and into the larger purpose of journal development, including building trust, credibility, and academic impact.
The atmosphere throughout the meeting was both professional and warmly collegial. By the end of the visit, many members of the KMITL delegation expressed their appreciation, noting that they had gained valuable knowledge from the discussion. Several participants shared that they would welcome the opportunity to return again in the future. For AU, the occasion served as another meaningful step in reinforcing its role as a hub for academic excellence, research quality, and professional cooperation.
