Assumption University of Thailand (AU) welcomed delegates from Christ University, Bengaluru, India, on February 9, 2026, marking a meaningful step toward renewing academic collaboration between the two Catholic institutions.
A Warm Welcome for Renewed Partnership
Christ University’s Prof. Linu Lonappan, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mr. Dennison Joseph, Associate Director, Office of the International Affairs were welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies, and his team, with discussions centered on shared values and converging academic interests.
From Campus Highlights to Research Conversations
Following a campus tour, the visiting delegates joined lunch at the Hall of Fame at the Cathedral of Learning, before proceeding to a working discussion with faculty leaders from the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology at the Gabriel Mary EV Research Center.
Sustainability as a Shared Research Direction
The meeting explored practical and academic pathways for collaboration, with particular potential identified for environmental sustainability–related research and applied initiatives.
AU Milestones Shared with Visiting Guests
The Christ University delegates also joined AU’s evening celebrations recognizing the 41st Anniversary of the Graduate Schools, the 40th Anniversary of the Theodore Maria School of Arts, and the 10th Anniversary of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University. The 10th Anniversary of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University, marked in collaboration with Tianjin University of Science and Technology, China (P.R.).
