A Dynamic Two-Day Celebration of Design Excellence

The Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design (AR+D) at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) hosted Arch-Art Design Fest 2025 on November 12–13, 2025, transforming the Architecture Building (AR) into a hub of imagination and innovation. The event featured workshops, students’ works exhibitions, lighting-room activities, material-room activities, construction suppliers’ booths, open-house activities, food and hand-made souvenirs, fashion shows, and performances that invited students, faculty, and visitors to experience design in action.

Opening Ceremony with University Leadership

The festival officially opened on Wednesday, November 12, in the lobby on the first floor, by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., the President of AU. His presence underscored the university’s commitment to fostering creativity, hands-on learning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The event was proudly organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sonthya Vanichvatana, Dean of the Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design (AR+D), whose continued support and encouragement have inspired students to express their creativity and design thinking beyond classrooms.

Exploring Creativity Across Every Level

Throughout both days (10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), the AR Building buzzed with creativity as students led engaging activities and guided visitors through each themed space:

    • First Floor: Students’ works exhibitions, presenting innovative student projects; building material exhibitions, book booths, and welcomed guests at the registration area.
    • Sixth Floor: The AR Studio opened its doors for innovative workshops and self-guided tours, offering a glimpse into the creative process behind student works.
    • Fourth Floor: The Co-working Space invited collaboration, showcasing how design thinking thrives through teamwork.
    • Third Floor: Visitors explored the Lighting Room, Material Library, Design Archive, and Presentation Room—each illustrating AU’s commitment to practical, hands-on design education.
    • Basement Level: The Interactive Installation zone blended art and technology, highlighting experimental works that engaged all senses.

Creativity Beyond the Walls

Extending outdoors of the AR Building, near the campus parking structure and along the main walkway, the festival’s open-air activities brought design to life for the wider community. The Fashion Walk, held twice daily at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., which drew attention as students modeled their own creations amid bamboo installations that blended sustainability with style. Meanwhile, the Music and Art Market added rhythm and color to the event, featuring performances and handmade crafts by AR+D students throughout both days.

Designing a Brighter Tomorrow

Arch-Art Design Fest 2025 reflected the spirit of AU, where imagination meets purpose. By opening their studios, sharing their ideas, and showcasing their work, AR+D students demonstrated that design is not just a discipline but a dialogue that connects creativity, community, and culture in meaningful ways.
