CIAU Hosts China National Conditions Knowledge Contest for Youth at AU

CIAU welcomed 60 students for a fast-paced China national conditions knowledge contest.

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) hosted a lively academic and cultural exchange as the Confucius Institute at Assumption University (CIAU) successfully organized the “华夏知多少 青春答未来—How Much Do You Know About China, Youth Answers the Future” China National Conditions Knowledge Contest on February 11, 2026, Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event gathered 60 Thai and Myanmar students from more than 20 schools across Thailand, creating a shared space for learning, confidence-building, and cross-cultural connection.

A Warm Welcome and a Shared Purpose

The opening ceremony was attended by AU leaders and CIAU representatives, including Dr. Kitikorn Dowpiset, Vice President for Moral Development Education of AU; Dr. Chayada Thanavisuth, Dean of the Theodore Maria School of Arts; Dr. Sansanee Aranyanak Khlaewkhla, Director of the Office of Graduate Studies; Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Director of CIAU; and Dr. Traiporn Kasempremjit, Chair of the Business Chinese Program, Theodore Maria School of Arts at AU.

In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Kitikorn Dowpiset highlighted the importance of intercultural understanding and emphasized the value of expanding knowledge about China’s national conditions, history, culture, and modern development, encouraging participants to compete with confidence while embracing the experience as a chance for growth.

Competition Format: From Written Exam to Live Finals

The contest began with a written preliminary round, covering topics such as China’s basic national conditions, historical heritage, and social development. Following evaluation, the top 24 contestants advanced to the final round.

The final stage was held as an on-site knowledge challenge, testing quick-response skills alongside language proficiency. Contestants demonstrated strong preparation and an impressive command of Chinese throughout the competition.

Awards and Recognition

The event concluded with an award ceremony, where Mr. Zhao Peiqin and Dr. Traiporn Kasempremjit presented trophies and certificates to the winners, followed by a group photo marking the successful completion of the contest.

Strengthening AU’s International Learning Environment

The competition further enriched AU’s international academic and cultural environment, giving students a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of China. CIAU reaffirmed its role as a bridge for cultural dialogue and academic cooperation, supporting sustained international engagement and youth exchange.
