The Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), kicked off a transformative new training program on Saturday, June 21, 2025, bringing together innovation, industry expertise, and national policy in one powerful initiative.
The course—“International Safety Standards with Digital Innovation for the Food and Biotechnology Industry” ( การเสริมศักยภาพผู้ประกอบการสู่มาตรฐานความปลอดภัยระดับสากลด้วยนวัตกรรมดิจิทัลสำหรับการผลิตอุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพ) —marks the official launch of the New Breed Entrepreneur and Workforce Development Program, aligned with Thailand’s Higher Education Reform Policy 2025. Supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and in partnership with the Thai Future Food Trade Association, the program aims to reskill and upskill professionals to meet international safety standards using cutting-edge digital tools.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, whose ongoing vision continues to elevate AU’s national impact.
Also delivering warm and inspiring remarks were two dynamic academic leaders:
Asst. Prof. Patchanee Yasurin, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Biotechnology, whose leadership has positioned AU as a regional force in food tech and biotech innovation, and
Roungdao Klinjapo, Ph.D., Chairperson of the Food Technology Department, whose forward-thinking approach connects academic rigor with industry relevance.

A cohort of 40 outstanding participants—hand-picked for their potential—will train through a 3-month weekend program running from June 21 to September 27, 2025. With modules grounded in international safety standards, digital transformation, and hands-on practice, the program ensures learners are equipped for tomorrow’s global marketplace.
AU’s Faculty of Biotechnology continues to play a leading role in shaping the future of Thailand’s food and biotech sectors—one skilled, future-ready entrepreneur at a time.
