Assumption University of Thailand (AU) is proud to announce the beginning of a new academic partnership with the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), marking a significant step forward in international collaboration. On this occasion, Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., President of Assumption University, had the distinct honor of meeting with Dr. Mark A. Nook, President of the University of Northern Iowa. This connection, fostered through the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS), reflects a shared vision and deep mutual respect. The visit by AU’s delegation culminated in the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), laying the foundation for future academic and cultural exchange.

Founded in 1866, the University of Northern Iowa has a proud legacy of service and education, originally established as an orphanage for children affected by the Civil War in Cedar Falls. As the university celebrates its 150th anniversary, it remains a leader in Iowa, offering more than 90 academic majors. With a dynamic campus environment, UNI supports over 300 student organizations, 17 NCAA Division I sports teams, and a wide array of fine arts programs. It currently holds the distinction of being ranked second among Top Public Schools in the Midwest.

AU values this partnership and looks forward to deepening academic collaboration with UNI. This alliance will create new opportunities for joint programs, faculty and student exchange, and shared learning experiences—enriching both academic communities and fostering global citizenship.
