Assumption University of Thailand Confirms Structural Safety of All Buildings Following Recent Earthquake

Following the earthquake on March 28, 2025, Assumption University (AU) promptly initiated thorough inspections to ensure the structural safety of all its buildings on the Hua Mak campus. The University, in collaboration with its contracted partner N.S. Plus Engineering Co., Ltd., conducted detailed examinations of all nine major buildings on campus.

The inspections, conducted on April 3, 2025, by certified structural engineer Mr. Natthawut Smithbenjaphon (License No.: WorYor.2402), confirmed the structural integrity and safety of each building:

  1. Chalermrachmongkol Building
  2. De Montfort Hall
  3. Martin De Tours Building
  4. Sts. Philip & Bernard Hall
  5. Queen’s Tower
  6. St. Gabriel Building
  7. St. Louis Hall
  8. Assumption Hall (Assumption R.S. 200)
  9. Engineering Building (อาคารถกลพระเกียรติ)

The inspections employed visual inspection methods to thoroughly assess the condition of structural elements. While minor cosmetic damage was noted in some architectural finishes, such as walls, ceilings, and decorative materials, none affected the buildings’ structural integrity or safety.

AU has officially received Certificates of Structural Stability for all buildings, ensuring students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders that the campus remains secure and fully operational.

This proactive measure underscores AU’s unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its community.
