The Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) warmly welcomed alumnus Mr. Jessada Laicharoenkiat, a successful beverage entrepreneur, as a guest speaker on September 4, 2025, at the Hua Mak Campus.
Speaking to students in the FT 4144 Food Ingredients Functionality course, Mr. Jessada presented an innovative and entertaining talk on the topic “Functional Food for Your Own Astrology”. His session highlighted how functional foods—those providing health benefits beyond basic nutrition—can be playfully aligned with astrology to create personalized food and beverage concepts.
With years of industry experience, Mr. Jessada illustrated how combining science, creativity, and market trends can inspire new products that resonate with consumers’ lifestyles and beliefs. His talk encouraged students to think beyond the lab, linking biotechnology to entrepreneurship, culture, and consumer psychology.
The event reflected the School of Biotechnology’s commitment to blending academic knowledge with real-world applications, ensuring AU students gain insights that prepare them to lead in the fast-growing food and beverage industry.
