Teaching Health and Spreading Hope with Covid-19 Education

WRITER: PIMSIRI BHUSIRI

The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS) at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) is turning knowledge into action — and compassion into impact.

On May 31, 2025, four dedicated faculty members — Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dr. Chavalee Boonto, Dr. Prapawan Praevanich, and Dr. Naree Achwarin — led an engaging health education session for students at the Manarotul-Uloom Foundation.

The project aims to breathe new life into Chan Krung’s locally grown sugarcane by transforming it into innovative, branded, market-ready products. But it’s not just about sweet treats—it’s about sustainable enterprise, economic empowerment, and local pride.

For AU students, this wasn’t just a visit—it was an immersion. An opportunity to put theory into practice, apply their skills in real time, and co-create solutions with the community. From assessing local needs to brainstorming value-added products, the experience delivered hands-on learning with heart.

This field visit is just the beginning. As the sugarcane turns into opportunity, the partnership between AU and Chan Krung is set to grow deeper roots—nurturing innovation, resilience, and a future where education meets empowerment.
