A group of countless AU jubilated community members comprising the rector, management members, administrators, faculty and staff joined numerous other honored guests and dignitaries in the blessed celebration featuring the holy mass organized by the Brothers of St. Gabriel Province of Thailand to honor and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Religious Life of Rev. Bro. Dr. Augustine Achin Tengtrakul, Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Acting Vice President for Student Affairs, and the 25th Anniversary of Religious Life of Rev. Bro. Dr. Theophane Verayuth Boonpram, Vice President for Financial Affairs, Assumption University.

MOU Signing Ceremony between Assumption University and North Bangkok University

Assumption University signed academic agreements with North Bangkok University during a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) held at Hua Mak Campus. In line with the signed agreements, the AU Bernadette De Lourdes School of Nursing Science will provide valuable advice, guidance and assistance mentoring the North Bangkok University’s School of Nursing Science which is at its infancy or starting stage.

Inauguration of the “Bro. Martin Pendulum” Landmark

The AU physic and scientific monumental symbol of “Pendulum” installed on the 1st floor of the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Suvarnabhumi Campus, was officially inaugurated on November 11, 2020.Unveiling the hanging round ball-like “Pendulum”, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, stressed about its scientific and astronomical significance, human’s curious learning and observation; testifying of the Antithesis of the Geocentric Model or theory of a French Physicist, Jean-Bernard-Leon Foucault, who mounted a large pendulum using an iron ball under the central dome of the Pantheon in Paris to prove that the earth is not the center of the universe and that the Earth spins or revolves on its axis eastward or counterclockwise.

The AU various Schools & faculties participated in the ACSP Educational Fair #2, organized on November 13, 2020 at Assumption College Samutprakarn’s St. Louis Area, to expose to these high school students the AU Schools’ current programs in order to create their awareness and publicize the excellent AU educational opportunities ,and thus boosting students’ enrolments. Rev. Bro. Dr. Pisutr Vapiso, Director, Assumption College Samutprakarn, presided over the launching of the Educational Fair.

On November 15, 2020, Assumption University and Assumption College Samutprakarn signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Assumption College Samutprakarn, to establish academic collaboration Initating closer links of concerted efforts for joint fruitful and meaningful academic developments and progress among the two institutions. The ACSP students showed great interests in finding out more about the educational opportunities at Assumption University.

The insightful seminar on Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) was organized by the Thomas Aquinas School of Law, Assumption University, on November 16, 2020 at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G. to enlighten participants with the pertaining legal matters, complications; especially the preparation and readiness of the academic institutions in tackling its impacts and practical compliance with the vital issues.Presiding over the training, Mr. Sompol Na Songkhla, AU Vice President for Legal and Priviledge Affairs, delivered the welcoming address highlighting on the significance of the training topic.

The Confucius Institute at Assumption University’s Members on a Cultural Exposure Trip to Patom Organic Village

A group of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University’s members: Chinese teachers, staff and students, led by the CIAU Chinese and Thai Directors, was on an educationally cultural tour to the Suan Sampran’s eco-cultural Patom Organic Village, Nakhon Pathom, on November 17, 2020. Joined by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, the visiting group was treated to volumes of exciting and extraordinarily learning activities; fully exposed the traditional Thai ways of life; culturally traditional heritages and popularly known local Thai wisdoms. Such a full-day educational and eventful field trip provided the visitors with the memorable and highly impressive learning experiences.

Ltd. organized the highly useful training on  “Turnitin” Internet-based, Closed-source Plagiarism Detection Service which was participated by the full audience of participants comprising administrators, academic, service personnel,  office staff or research-related  university’s Journal officials.

Training on “How to Write an Effective Review”

The AU Library in collaboration with the ISL X  Spoonwalk organized the training and workshop on “How to Write an Effective Review” for a number of AU Personnel of library, office and support staff.  The Effective Content & Review Writing” and the clearly communicative written skills are of vital importance as proper communication tools for all.As the related factors of effective written skills are necessary for all personnel, this extremely useful training was held to provide systematic, step by step KOL content & review writing processes; polishing and upgrading the AU personnel’s skills and abilities The training conducted at both campuses on November 17, 2020 at 12.30 – 13.30 Hrs. and 15.30 – 16.30 Hrs. respectively at Suvarnabhumi and Hua Mak Campuses.

The AUSO student group participated in the organized seminar on “Young People United Force Ending Violence Against Women, Children and Families” Held by the Women Lawyers Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, the event took place on November 23, 2020 at the Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok.

AU Biotechnology Student won a Bronze Medal in “the Navy Archery Open 9th”

AU Biotechnology Student, Ms. Selene Vate-U-Lan won a bronze medal in the Thailand Higher Education Tournament “the Navy Archery Open 9th” on 27-29 November 2020 at Sattahip, Rayong Province. This joined a national competition organized by the Royal Thai Navy in conjunction with elite international archery organizations. 314 Thai Athletes and 34 teams participated in this national tournament.
