On October 17, 2025, the Academic Research and Innovation Committee of the Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS) organized a First Aid Training Project at the Hall of Fame, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), Hua Mak Campus. The initiative was held in collaboration with the Institute of Research and Academic Service, reinforcing AU’s commitment to community engagement and public health.
Thirty primary school teachers from communities surrounding the Suvarnabhumi Campus participated in the program, which aimed to strengthen first aid knowledge and hands-on emergency response skills. The project was also part of the school’s 40th Anniversary Celebration and an auspicious lead-up to Thailand National Nurses Day on October 21, honoring the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the revered Princess Mother.
The event was graced by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, who delivered opening remarks.
Participants rotated through five first aid stations, gaining practical skills in wound dressing, bandaging and safe patient transfer, managing choking and applying hot–cold compresses, practicing rational drug use, and performing life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
At the conclusion of the training, participants received certificates of completion and expressed high satisfaction with the program. Many shared that the skills gained would help them better protect and support students, teachers, and their wider communities.
