Smarter Rides, Safer Roads: AU’s Taxi Service Network Seminar Drives Change

WRITER : THE AU LIBRARY

Bangkok, May 22, 2025 — Assumption University of Thailand (AU) rolled out a thought-provoking seminar on the Taxi Service Network. Hosted at the Suvarnabhumi Campus, the event brought together experts, students, and community leaders to explore how smarter mobility and service mindsets can transform urban transport.

Organized by the Center for Student Personality and Campus Life, Student Affairs, the half-day seminar focused on raising awareness around local taxi operations, safety, and the human side of public transportation.

Kicking off with purpose, Mr. Saharath Dowpiset, Director , Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, warmly welcomed guests and set the tone with a message on collaboration and shared responsibility for safer roads.

Dr. Peenithi Siritheeratharadol, Director, Center for Career Development & Counseling, then delivered an impactful session on the link between driving behavior and mental health. His message was clear: behind every wheel is a human being, and addressing stress, focus, and empathy can prevent more accidents than speed bumps ever could.

After a short networking break, the seminar shifted gears with Pol. Lt. Col. Phatthara Moolkarn, a seasoned officer and community relations specialist from the Metropolitan Police Bureau. His talk was a crowd favorite, as she unpacked laws relevant to taxi services and tackled local traffic challenges with grace, clarity, and just the right touch of humor.

AU students also stepped into the spotlight with a case study on mobility issues near campus. Their observations and fresh perspectives fueled deeper discussions about accessibility and commuter culture.

Certificates of participation were presented to attendees, and closing remarks left the room buzzing with new ideas and a shared commitment to safer, smarter commuting.

AU continues to lead the way in fostering dialogue between students, citizens, and public service partners — because when the ride gets smoother, everyone wins.
