Assumption University of Thailand (AU) is proud to announce that Ms. Selene Vate-U-Lan, a student at the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, showcased her exceptional vision and expertise at the Falling Walls Lab Thailand 2023 competition held on August 26th. Ms. Selene Vate-U-Lan's innovative proposal, titled "Breaking NCDs Risk with Food Science Service," has garnered widespread attention and commendation for its groundbreaking approach to addressing the global challenge of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Falling Walls Lab Thailand, a prestigious competition organized by the German Academic Exchange Service, the German Embassy, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Thai partners, offers a unique platform for emerging researchers to present their ideas, foster connections, and transcend the boundaries of science.

The competition draws its inspiration from the fall of the Berlin Wall, symbolizing the aspiration that young researchers can dismantle barriers and push the frontiers of scientific exploration to tackle both global and local issues.

Selene Vate-U-Lan's proposal stood out for its innovative and practical approach to combating the rising menace of NCDs. With her visionary project, she aims to leverage food science as a powerful tool in addressing the risk factors associated with these diseases.
