Assumption University of Thailand (AU) joined Peking University (PKU) for the first Arts & Technology Development Fund Committee Meeting at Yan Nan Yuan No. 51, Beijing. The meeting marked a major step in advancing academic cooperation between the two institutions, focusing on cultural innovation and creative industry development.
The session was opened by Prof. Xiang Yong, Dean of PKU’s Institute for Cultural Industries, followed by remarks from Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies of AU. The committee reviewed the first year of fund utilization and finalized the strategic directions for 2025–2026.
Four key areas were identified:
Talent Development: Expanding graduate and undergraduate programs in cultural technology and social innovation.
Academic Research: Joint publications, including the China Cultural Industries Development Report in both Chinese and English.
Academic Exchange: Planning the 2026 New Year Forum and Thailand–China Workshop on Art, Technology & Social Innovation.
Project Transformation: Developing collaborative projects such as a Bangkok laboratory exhibition, Ko Kred International Art Island, and an International Entrepreneurship Park.
AU was well represented by Dr. Apichart Intravisit, Program Director of MA in Arts and Design, Graduate School of Human Science, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nutthaphut Pandjad , Dean of the Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts. PKU delegates included senior representatives from the School of Arts and the School of Journalism and Communication.
This meeting reflected the shared commitment of both universities to bridge arts, technology, and cultural exchange, laying the foundation for future collaborative projects and joint academic initiatives.
