NT Visit Advances Digital Engineering Partnership with AU

National Telecom executives visited the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology(VMES)  to discuss future talent development.


On February 24, 2026,

Assumption University of Thailand (AU)  welcomed a high-level executive delegation from National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) to explore potential collaboration in advanced technology education, research, and workforce development.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Kitikorn Dowpiset, Vice President for Moral Development Education, together with faculty members from the  School of VMES and representatives from Graduate Studies. The NT executive team was led by Mr. Thinnakorn Nathonglie, Executive Vice President – Infrastructure Group. The delegation included Mrs. Prapasri Sirivatanapa (Vice President – NT Academy), Mr. Teerawat Issariyakul (Vice President – Platform Technology and Solutions Standard Department), Mr. Tawatchai Lorjongheang (Vice President – Building and Power Engineering Department), Miss Chanakarn Runcharoen (Senior Director – Technology Solutions Security Sector), Mr. Pongsak Eamprapai (Senior Director – Human Resources Development Planning Sector – NT Academy), and Mr. Chatchai Wawviriya (Senior Engineer – Human Resources Development Sector – NT Academy).

Focus on Engineering and Digital Infrastructure

The visit centered on strengthening collaboration with the School of VMES to align academic programs and research capabilities with industry needs in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

Showcasing Innovation and Learning Environments

During the visit, the NT delegation toured key academic and research facilities across the Suvarnabhumi Campus. Highlights included the the School of VMES and the Gabriel Mary Research and Learning Center for New Energy Vehicle Technology, a collaboration between AU and MG Cars (Thailand) Co., Ltd., dedicated to education and research in novel energy vehicle technologies.

Framework for Strategic Collaboration

Following the tour, both parties discussed a framework for long-term cooperation designed to strengthen industry–university integration and support Thailand’s digital transformation. Key areas of proposed collaboration include:

    • Development of specialized digital workforce competencies to meet industry demand
    • Joint research and development in digital technologies, cloud systems, data centers, information systems, and telecommunications
    • Co-development of training programs, curricula, and innovative teaching approaches
    • Support for Cooperative and Work Integrated Education (CWIE), internships, and experiential learning opportunities for students
    • Professional skills development and competency training for NT personnel in network infrastructure, cloud platforms, data center operations, and telecommunications systems
    • Sharing of resources, expert speakers, and learning facilities
    • Academic services and digital technology outreach initiatives to support communities

The discussions also highlighted opportunities for collaboration in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, digital platforms, and organizational capability development.

The team also observed the operations of the university’s robotics laboratory, which supports research, teaching, and collaboration with external organizations. In addition, the delegation visited the  University Library located in the Cathedral of Learning (CL) building to learn more about the university’s learning resources and academic support services.

Toward Strategic Collaboration

The visit reflected a shared commitment to exploring long-term cooperation in strategic areas including artificial intelligence, robotics, digital platforms, and organizational development. The engagement marked an important step toward building industry-ready talent and supporting Thailand’s digital and innovation-driven economy.
