VME Students' Final Project “An Automated Medication System (AMS) Device

VME Student’s Final Project VME Student’s Final Project

In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in mechatronics, Mohamed Abshan and Yezouma Pascal Coulibaly designed an Automated Medication System (AMS) device, under the guidance of their advisor
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiradech Kongthon.

Basically, the AMS device dispenses up to eight (8) different categories of pills to handle a number of minor health issues. It interacts with Smartphone App using Bluetooth communication module (HC-06) and dispenses the right pills based on a list of a Multiple-Choice questions or the express order of the user. It can also dispense pills using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, and call the users using buzzer and flashes light at the appointed time for medication. When requested, it may also dispense water to take the pills.

The main electronic components are: an Arduino Mega microcontroller, two IR obstacle detection sensor modules, four micro servo motors, a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor Module, an RFID tag module, a HC-06 Bluetooth module, and a micro pump.
