Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother 12th August 2021
Who could ever have expected that on the twelfth of August 1932, heaven would confer a sweet, kind-eyed and beautiful little baby to the royal family of "Kitiyakara?" Who could ever have imagined that fate would ordain such an innocent young lady with her sweet smile to become the Queen of King Bhumipol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand? Mom Rajawong Ying Sirikit Kitiyakara grew up full of sweetness and natural beauty. Her innocent sweet smile impressed all who ever met her. As fate continued to play its hand, Mom Rajawong Ying Sirikit Kitiyakara, daughter of His Serene Highness Prince NugkhatamangkalaKitiyakara, the Royal Ambassador to the Republic of France, came by chance to meet the King on a private visit that be made to France, and there cupid shot his arrow.
It was this event that brought much joy and happiness to the Thai people. In 1956, the King entered the priesthood, and appointed he Queen as His Regent. Thus she became the Regent Queen of Thailand.
On August 9, 2021, Led by Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice President for Moral Development Education, The University Campus Ministry, and Director, John Paul II Center for Catholic Social Thought, a group of AU administrators, faculty members, and staff paid tribute and honored to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday at the Queen’s Room, Suvarnabhumi Campus.
On August 6, 2021, Led by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, a group of AU administrators, faculty members, and staff paid tribute and honored to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday at the Lobby Area, Assumption Hall, Hua Mak Campus.
On August 11, 2020, AU community members joined hands in celebrating H.M. Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday which falls on August 12, 2020 and regarded as a Mother’s Day. Presided over by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, the celebrative ceremonial functions took place at both campuses with celebrants clad in blue attires; paying tribute and honor to her majesty.
On August 8, 2019, Led by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, a group of AU management, administrators, faculty members, staff and students, clad in blue attires, congregated to celebrate H.M. Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday which falls on August 12, 2019. This celebrative occasion organized by Office of the Thai Art and Culture, Student Affairs, was conducted at both campuses respectively at the Queen’s Room, Suvarnabhumi Campus (at 11.00 hrs) and at the Lobby Area, Assumption Building, HuaMak Campus(at 16.00 hrs).
On August 10, 2018, A group of AU administrators, faculty, staff and students assembled to pay tribute to H.M. Queen Sirikit (in the reign of King Rama IX) celebrating her 86th birthday anniversary which falls on August 12, 2018 (National Mother’s Day). During this auspicious occasion, felicitous poems in both Thai and English were cited and the “Royal Anthem” and Sadudee Maharacha sung in honor of Her Majesty. The celebrative event, and presided over by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, took place respectively at 11.15 hrs., at the Queen’s Room (Cathedral of Learning), Suvarnabhumi Campus, and at the Tower of David, HuaMak Campus, at 16.00 hrs.
On August 11, 2017, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, Rector - Magnificus presided over the ceremony paying tribute to Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her 85th Birthday Anniversary at Assumption University. Rev. Bro. Dr. Prathip M. Komolmas, President Emeritus, AU administrators, faculty members, students and staff participated in the ceremony; joining the whole Thai nation in conveying their best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen on this auspicious occasion. The event was performed at both campuses.
On August 11, 2016, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus presided over Her Majesty the Queen's 84th Birthday Anniversary at Assumption University, HuaMak Campus and Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, Vice President for Student Affairs, presided over the ceremony at Suvarnabhumi campus. AU Administrators, faculty members, students and staff attended the ceremony joining the whole Thai nation conveying their best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen on this special occasion.
On August 11, 2015, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus presided over Her Majesty the Queen’s 83rd Birthday Anniversary Ceremony at Assumption University. AU administrators, faculty members, students, and staff joined the whole Thai nation sending our best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen on this auspicious occasion. The ceremony was performed on both campuses at Queen’s Room, Cathedral of Learning Building, Suvarnabhumi Campus and at Tower of David, Hua Mak Campus.
On August 11, 2014, Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice Rector for Moral Development Education led the Assumption University community at a Blessing Ceremony on the Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen's 82nd Birthday, at the Tower of David, HuaMak campus and Suvarnabhumi campus at the Queen's room, the Cathedral of Learning. Participating in the events were Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, Rector Magnificus, Faculty members, Staffs and Students. The Blessing Ceremony was organized by Office of Thai Arts and Culture.
On August 9, 2013, Assumption University’s celebrated Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Birthday Anniversary. The ceremony was to pay homage to Her Majesty at both campuses at the Tower of David, Hua Mak campus. Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, AU President - Rector Magnificus presided over the ceremony, and the John XXIII Conference Center, Suvarnabhumi campus.
First organized at Suvarnabhumi Campus on August 11, 2004, Assumption University’s celebrated Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Birthday Anniversary at the Queen room, The Cathedral of Learning, Bangna Campus. The ceremony was to pay homage to Her Majesty. Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, AU President, presided over the ceremony with AU President Emeritus Rev. Bro. Prathip Martin Komolmas joined by administrators, faculty, and students.
First organized at Hua Mak Campus on August 11, 1997, Assumption University’s celebrated Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Birthday Anniversary on 11th August 1997 at the Tower of David, HuaMak Campus. On May the twentieth, 1950, a day of great rejoicing was prepared for all Thai people when their King married Mom Rajawong Ying Sirikit Kitiyakara and nominated her as the Queen.
