Digital Marketing Workshop Series:  SEO for Beginners 

Intensive Training for AU Website Personnels in Digital Marketing Skills to Improve Websites’ Ranking

As part of an on-going effort to enhance digital marketing and analytics skills among the AU personnels, the fourth workshop in the Digital Marketing Workshop Series, “SEO for Beginners”, was held on October 28, 2020 at the St. Gabriel Library, Hua Mak Campus.

The digital marketing workshop series have strategically been organized to continually develop the skillset needed by AU personnels to transform the university into the digital communication era. In this workshop, the goal is to learn how to develop and improve the practicality, accessibility, and presence of not only our main AU website but also those of our schools, departments, and offices. 

It is through these digital marketing workshops that AU staff & officers are continually trained to increase their knowledge and practical skills of all relevant digital communication strategies of the university.

The training workshop session featured an expert keynote speaker and Mr. Tapanan Yeophantong, Director of Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory, Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology, and his team members, who provided us with invaluable insights into the world of search engine marketing and how SEO works. The workshop was actively attended by faculty members, staff, particularly website and IT officers.

During the session, Mr. Tapanan also re-iterated in great details the key activities to successful SEO operations. Participants learned the values of identifying keywords, writing web content and description, and defining meaninful and measurable metrics. Most importantly, understanding the “to whom, what, and why” of communications was a key emphasis in the practical session.

The workshop is a small part of an initiative to develop public awareness and recognition of the university, by establishing a workgroup of representatives from various units and offices to design and develop digital marketing platform and operations.  The aim is to improve online presence of AU through systematic digital marketing platform, process, effective digital marketing channel and content.
