Be a Designer One Day Ep.2: Scholarship competition

The Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts Program in Interior Design, Assumption University, has recently launched the 2021 curriculum. The course is intensively designed to be more practical yet maintaining the standards that are in line with the architect council’s criteria in order to allow students to apply for their professional licenses.

It also retains the core course contents that enable students to become professional designers with an extensive understanding of business fundamentals, marketing, and branding. In addition, students can personally customize the course by themselves. This is the latest initiative that would allow learners to optimize their interests and realize their career goals.

The department has also launched a scholarship competition of 100,000 baht for students who are graduating from Mattayom 6 or equivalent. Details are as follows:

  1. Contestants will have 60 minutes to design a colored interior perspective on a horizontal A4 + a Video Clip explaining the design concept including the inspirations behind the design, style, color, and material selections according to the questions that each contestant will receive on the examination day.
  2. The horizontal A4 size perspective can be drawn on paper, computers, or tablets, depending on the contestant’s choice of preference.
  3. The competition day will be held on Saturday 29 May 2021 and will be judged by a panel of interior design experts.

Procedure:

  1. Apply for the scholarships online via the QR CODE from now - 25 May 2021.

 Each participant starts working on the brief and spends 60 minutes completing sketches including the 3-minute video clip to explain the design concept (in Thai or English). The participant should always turn the camera on during the competition.
11:00 All participants are to submit their work.
11:15 Some works will be randomly selected to be presented to the panel.
11:45 Evaluators will convene.
15:00 A winner and 2 runner-ups will be announced on IND Facebook and line.
