The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), organized the Preceptorship Training for Nursing Practicum 2022 at Seminar room, De Montfort Hall, Hua Mak Campus on October 17-20, 2022 at 08:30-17:30 hours. The objectives of this training were:

1. To train qualified nursing staff from hospitals, nursing alumni, and faculty members to be efficient AU preceptors / faculty members.
2. To strengthen the quality of teaching-learning activities in the clinical setting.
3. To maintain the standard ratio of faculty member/preceptor to student 1:8 in the health care settings.

There were six modules consisting of Module 1: Health system and core competencies of professional nurses and midwifery; Module 2: Nursing curriculum and nursing management related to Thai Qualification Framework; Module 3: Nursing process and application; Module 4: Preceptorship in nursing education; Module 5: Clinical teaching and learning process; and Module 6: Clinical performance evaluation.

  • Evaluation criteria of clinical performance and nursing education in Taiwan on October 20, 2022 at 14:30-15:30 hours by Assistant Professor Dr. Li-Chiu Lin, College of Nursing, Hungkuang University, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
  • Practice: Clinical performance evaluation on October 20, 2022 at 15:30-17:30 by Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dr. Jiratithigan Sillapasuwan, Dr. Yu Thanda, and  A. Sirporn Silphipat.

There were approximately 60 participants consisting of professional nurses from public and private hospitals; professional nurses from health centers and nursing home for elderly; AU nursing alumni and clinical preceptors; and AU Faculty members. All participants obtained the certificates and 28 Continuing Nursing Education Unit (CNEU).
