Thomas Aquinas School of Law arranged educational visits as an honorable event on the occasion of the Father of Thai Law Memorial Day 2022 or Rapee Day on Friday 5th August 2022 to commemorate Prince Rapee Pattanasak’s kindness and dedication toward the reformation of the Thai law and court system.



Participants led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sthianrapab Naluang, the dean, administrators, lecturers, students, and alumni around 100 persons started the activity at the Supreme Court in the morning to deliver a praise speech and lay a wreath to pay homage to Prince Rapee’s statue in front of the Office of the Judiciary Building. In this regard, Mr. Teerapong Hunpaisarn, Deputy Secretary of the Supreme Court kindly provided the reception and facilitation. After that, all participants travelled to King Prajadhipok’s Museum to learn about the politics and administration revolution of Thailand, specifically in the reign of King Rama VII, and after the Siamese Revolution in the year 1932. Then, law students and lecturers moved to Maharaj Road to take a sight-seeing tour for significant historical places of the country such as the Grand Palace, the City Pillar Shrine, Ministry of Defense, Tha Ratcha Woradit, etc.

In the afternoon, the participants visited the Civil Court, to watch and learn about the civil court’s function and jurisdiction, civil litigation process, e-filling or e-court system, and Online Sale Transaction Case Division, the latest and the most modern court division in Thailand. All participants have been given kindness and warm welcome by Mr. Narach Imsuksri, Deputy Director General of the Civil Court, Mr. Mahuntachoke Chalaemket, the Civil Court Secretary, and Mr. Surakiet Uthaichet, Director of the Civil Court Administrative Office.

Every year on 7th August, all legal units both governmental and private sectors around the country organize several kinds of activities to commemorate the passing of Prince Rapee Pattanasak, whose all lifetime devoted and contributed to the development of the Thai legal and court system, legal education, including the establishment of the first law school in Thailand that was the taproot of all law faculties nowadays.
