Assumption University Welcomes ASEAN-China Cultural Exchange Exhibition and Forum
This October 25, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Suvarnabhumi Campus will host an extraordinary event blending art, culture, and dialogue: The Covenant of Mountains and Seas, Beauty in Diversity. This month-long Painting and Digital Art Exhibition is part of the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges and promises to showcase the vibrant cultural exchanges between ASEAN nations and China through breathtaking works of art.

Running from October 25 to November 25, 2024, the exhibition features a wide array of traditional and contemporary artworks from celebrated artists across the region. The pieces reflect the diverse landscapes, cultures, and heritage of Southeast Asia and China, celebrating the unity found in diversity. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the visual stories of these nations as they come together in one compelling display.
Cross-Border Art Forum
To kick off the exhibition in grand style, Assumption University will also host the Cross-Border and Flow: New Western Land-Sea Corridor International Art Forum on Friday, October 25, 2024. The forum will gather prominent academics, artists, and cultural experts to discuss the role of art in fostering cultural dialogue and understanding within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
This unique event will feature keynote speakers from renowned institutions, including the UNESCO Chain on Creativity and Sustainable Development in Rural Areas and Peking University’s Institute for Cultural Industries. These thought leaders will explore how art can act as a bridge between cultures and inspire meaningful exchanges between ASEAN and China.
A Collaborative Endeavor
The exhibition and forum are made possible through a partnership between Assumption University and key Chinese academic and cultural organizations, including the Professional Committee of Art Rural Construction of the China Society for Anthropology of Arts. Several departments at Assumption University, including the AU Thai-Chinese International College, Graduate School of Human Sciences, and Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design, Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, Graduate School of Business and Advanced Technology Management - (GS-BATM) and Central Library are also contributing to this collaborative event.
