BLNS’ Overseas Internship Program 2023

Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU) gave warm welcome to Professor Dr. Chen, Shu-Ling, Dean of Nursing School; Associate Professor Dr. Lei, Ruoh-Lih, Director of Nursing Department; and Assistant Professor Dr. Li-Chiu Lin, full-time lecturer from Nursing School, Hungkuang University, Taiwan on August 4, 2023, 10:00 hours at the Office of the President. On this occasion, Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dean of Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS); Dr. Phat Prapawichar, Associate Dean; and nursing instructors also joined this event.

The BLNS has MOU with Nursing Department, Hungkuang University, Taiwan since September 30, 2021. The collaborative activities in the MOU include student exchange program, faculty exchange program, special short-term academic program, staff development projects, joint research and activities.

In the year 2023, the BLNS offered Overseas Internship Program for eight nursing students from Nursing School, Hungkuang University, Taiwan from July 1- August 5, 2023. This project is responsible by Dr. Chavalee Boonto. It aims to strengthen international collaboration activities, promote international exposure of faculty members and students, organize the internship program for nursing students from overseas universities, and expand academic networking.

The activities of this overseas internship consisted of theoretical class attending; practice in health care settings; field trip to Busakorn clinic, Genea infertile clinic, Vejthani hospital, Primary Care at Tab-Chang community, Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities; and cultural exposures. These students presented their knowledge and experiences to their Dean, Director of Nursing Department, advisor, and AU nursing instructors on August 4, 2023 (last day of internship). Dr. Vindhai Cocracul, Advisor for Academic Affairs, also attended this presentation.
