Thomas Aquinas School of Law, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly held its annual Freshmen Orientation event for new law students on July 16, 2024. This year, the event was introduced in a new setting designed not only to introduce students to AU’s comprehensive legal education program, but also to let them learn how law is deeply related to their lives and what to anticipate during their years in law school. The event was a significant success.
The orientation began with a warm welcome from the Dean of the Thomas Aquinas School of Law (TASL), setting an inspiring tone for the day. The program featured a series of insightful sessions led by distinguished alumni and faculty members.
In the first session, Ajarn Taksa Aura-ek, an esteemed AU Law Alumnus from the class of '41, delivered an engaging talk on "Law and Life," shared his personal experiences and insights on his pathway before, during, and after the time he studied at Thomas Aquinas School of Law, and inspired students how a legal education at AU shapes professional and personal growth. After the talk, students had a chance to actively engage in a workshop involving legal issues in real-life situations.
Following this, Asst. He also showed students roles of legal profession to let them see themselves as a social engineer working in different sectors.
After a short break, A. Pitchaya Dharmpipit, from the class of '47, gave a detailed introduction to AU Law and the robust program, highlighting the AU and school’s vision and mission, rules and regulations, and the school’s uniqueness and strengths. The event also featured A. Our commitment to providing a top-tier education, coupled with a supportive community, ensures that each student can reach their full potential."
