On September 13, 2024, Assumption University of Thailand and Chengdu Medical College held a signing ceremony for the Student Joint Training Program Cooperation Agreement and the unveiling ceremony for the Assumption University of Thailand - Chengdu Medical College Teaching Base at Chengdu Medical College's Xindu Campus. This event marks a significant step forward in the partnership between the two universities, strengthening their collaboration in international higher medical education and laying a solid foundation for cultivating globally competitive medical talents.
During the signing ceremony, President Pan Kejian of Chengdu Medical College warmly welcomed and expressed sincere gratitude to Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, President of Assumption University of Thailand, and the visiting faculty leaders. The friendship between Chengdu Medical College and Assumption University began in 2021, with earlier collaborations laying the groundwork for the renewed partnership. This agreement not only affirms the results of previous efforts but also signifies a deeper level of cooperation.
Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka remarked that Chinese medical education offers both the profound wisdom of traditional medicine and the rigor of modern medical systems, while Thailand has made unique contributions in specific medical fields. By combining the strengths of both institutions, sharing research resources, and exploring cutting-edge medical topics, the universities aim to foster integration and innovation in medical knowledge, injecting fresh energy into international medical education.
