On 27 July, 2022, Louis Nobiron School of Music organized the lecture concert “SPIRITA Episode VIII: A Taste of the Operatic Evening”, the event of the faculty members and friends to show how classical music is entertaining and fun to enjoy for every eye and ear. This special event also received an honour by the distinctive guest performers from three instructors from the College of Music, Mahidol University: Visanee Vongvirulh (String and Chamber Music Department); Rasikamon Siyapong (Piano Department); Dr. Fueanglada Prawang Carlson (Voice Department) and Mr. Waku Nakazawa (Opera Singer, Tenor).

The musical pieces were ranged from classical era to 20th century, from violin sonata to an operatic aria. The event was hosted by the Dean, School of Music, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pannawit Sanitnarathorn who was the narrator and also participated in the music programme in the piece of Vivaldi’s Concert for Two Violins in A Minor, Op.3 No.8. The event went with a great joy and success, faculty members, and students.

Short Biography of the Guest Performers

Dr. Fueanglada Prawang Carlson is currently working as a singing teacher and lecturer at Mahidol University and Harrow International School. She recently completed her doctoral degree in Voice Performance at Bangor University, North Wales. This was the culmination of her academic studies, following on from a Bachelor Degree in Performance Voice from College of Music, Mahidol University, Thailand and being the first Thai singer who passed the admission exam for the Master Degree in Music and Drama (Opera) in Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, Vienna. Widely recognised as one of the top vocal music schools in the world, she graduated from with an ‘excellent’ result. She was proud to receive a full scholarship for her Master and Doctoral degrees through the Office of Higher Education’s Commission in Thailand.

Visanee Vongvirulh is currently a violin instructor and lecturer at the College of Music, Mahidol University, and a member of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. At a young age, she won the 1st Prize at the 4th Beethoven Competition in Thailand for Young String Players in 2010 and was invited to perform at the Beethovenfest in Bonn, Germany. Visanee graduated with a bachelor’s degree (First Class Honors) in Music Performance (Violin) from the College of Music, Mahidol University. She was awarded a 9-Month Classical Music Training Scholarship from ASEA UNINET to study at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria and received a scholarship from the Royal Thai Government for further studies in Austria (Bachelor’s and Master‘s degree) in Instrumental Pedagogy (Violin). In her second bachelor’s degree, she graduated under Prof. Anita Mitterer and for her master’s degree under Prof. Klara Flieder-Pantillon at the Mozarteum University, Salzburg Austria.

Rasikamon Siyapong is one of the most sought-after collaborative pianists and chamber musicians in Thailand, Rasikamon Siyapong has performed extensively with vocalists and instrumentalists throughout Europe and Asia. As a pedagogue, she rejoined the faculty of Mahidol University in 2019 and also serves as a collaborative pianist. she graduated from College of Music, Mahidol University majored piano performance with a first-class honor. She was a recipient of a scholarship within a framework of ASEA-Uninet and partaking her studies at Mozarteum University as an exchange student in 2014. In Summer 2019, she completed her Master Degree in vocal-accompaniment in University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria under the tutelage of Ao. Univ. Prof. Mag. art. Stacey Bartsch and Julius Drake. During her study in Graz, she was appointed as “Studentische Mitarbeiterin” and played in a class of Prof. Univ.Prof. Mag.art. Dr.phil. Ulf Bästlein.

Waku Nakazawa was born in Tokyo and graduated his Bachelor degree in Voice performance at Kunitachi College of Music in Japan. In 2008, he graduated his “2nd Diplom” with distinction in Voice performance at Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium in Feldkirch, Austria. He continued studying “Master opera and music-theatre” and “Master lied and oratorio” at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria. As a conductor, Waku debuted his first opera in 2014 with “The Magic Flute” at Oper im Berg Festival (Austria) and in the year 2015 at Opera Festival Amerang Castle (Germany) and Skive Opera Festival (Denmark). Within a couple years, he conducted many important opera repertoires. Waku Nakazawa is known as “Conductenor“, specially for “The Magic Flute”, which he conducted and sang Monostatos at the same time already for 60 performances.
