Assumption University proudly hosted a Blood Donation Campaign to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on the occasion of her 91st Birthday Anniversary on August 25, 2023, from 09:00 to 15:00 hours. Organized by the Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science and the National Blood Centre Thai Red Cross Society, the event symbolized unity, compassion, and the university's unwavering dedication to societal well-being.
Gathering at Assumption University’s Suvarnabhumi campus, students, faculty, and staff came together with a shared commitment - to save lives through the selfless act of blood donation. Beyond addressing the critical need for blood transfusions, the campaign shed light on the profound significance of such actions during medical emergencies.
On this occasion, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, the President of Assumption University of Thailand kindly delivered the opening speech and warmly welcomed attendees.
At its core, the campaign highlighted the enduring legacy of the Thai Red Cross Society, which has tirelessly alleviated suffering in Thailand for over 130 years. A pivotal objective was to enhance awareness about the indispensable role of blood donation, fostering a community that is resilient and well-equipped to confront medical challenges.
The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS), Thailand's pioneering and sole sustainable international nursing program among 89 nursing schools in Thailand, played a pivotal role in the event.
