The Nurse Network on Tobacco Control of Thailand organized the 9th seminar entitled “Move Forward for being the Sustainable Nursing Student Club Creating a Smoke-Free Society”. The seminar aimed to increase knowledge and skills related to tobacco control for 155 Deans and instructors and 609 nursing students from nursing schools in Thailand. The seminar was conducted on 19-20 February 2022 via Zoom application.


On this occasion, three junior nursing students from Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing ScienceMr. Rachanon Sakol, Mr. Rachata Yangyuenvanissakun, and Ms. Tussanawan Putponthip, who won the First Prize of social media contest in the category of “Preventing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) caused by Cigarette Smoking”, were invited to share their ideas about the inspiration and theoretical background for developing the VDO clip “Smoking Silent Killer: Stop Smoking = Stop NCDs”.

The factor contributing to their success and the application of clip VDO for reducing number of cigarette smokers were included in the sharing session. Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dean of BLNS and Assistant Prof. Dr. Siriporn Poonruksa, the advisor of this social media production also participated in this seminar.

At the end of the seminar, it was a precious moment for three nursing students because the organizer initiated the ceremony by inviting Associate Professor Supanee Senadisai, the president of Nurse Network on Tobacco Control of Thailand to deliver the certificate of achievement to all of them.
